Object description
The shadow theatre backdrop shows a bamboo-covered rock with a grotto. A vase with a willow branch, an attribute of the Guanyin, stands on a rocky outcrop. A pile of books lies on another ledge and a bird with a bow in its beak hangs from the ceiling of the grotto. A spring gushes from the rock and on the right-hand side is an expanse of water with blooming lotus flowers, the throne of the Guanyin. A red dragon winds its way through the rocks and holds a lotus flower with a vessel and a pearl in its claw. (14.05.2025, LS)
